The nadeshiko is a delicate pink dianthus flower that grows wild across Japan. It’s so admired that its name has long been used as a poetic symbol of grace. The Sailor Shikiori Sansui Nadeshiko ball pen takes that soft pink and pairs it with bright chrome trim. It’s a fresh, graceful pink Japanese ball pen for everyday writing.

What makes the Nadeshiko special

Most pink pens lean either bubblegum-bright or pale and washed out. Nadeshiko sits nicely in between: gentle, pretty and easy to live with. The chrome trim keeps it cool and contemporary, which is a nice contrast to the gold-trimmed Sansui shades.

Shikiori Sansui in a nutshell

The Shikiori collection is Sailor’s celebration of Japan’s four seasons. The Sansui series (“mountains and water”) within it looks to the landscape, including its flowers, birds and wildlife. Nadeshiko represents the wildflowers of the hills and riverbanks.

Specs that matter

It’s a light 20g, 134mm long and 12mm in diameter. The resin body makes long writing sessions comfortable. It’s capless, so you simply twist the barrel to extend the tip and twist back to put it away. As a ballpoint, it’s reliable on all everyday paper and dries fast.
