The Sailor 1911 Casual Shikiori Tsukuyono Minamo ball pen in Yonaga is a beautifully finished Japanese ball pen for everyday writing. Sailor’s Shikiori range (the name means “weaving the four seasons”) draws its colours from the seasons and scenery of Japan, and each shade has its own evocative name. Yonaga refers to the long nights of autumn, and the deep purple resin has a calm, twilight feel. Set off with gold-plated trim, it’s a premium ball pen that brings a little Japanese seasonal beauty to your desk.

Sailor 1911 styling

Sailor has been making writing instruments in Japan since 1911, and its pencils and ball pens share the same care and finish as its famous fountain pens. The 1911 Casual line takes its classic, rounded shape from Sailor’s famous 1911 pens. This ball pen is 134mm long with a 12mm diameter and weighs 22g, a comfortable, balanced weight for daily use.

Twist mechanism

There’s no cap to lose: a simple twist extends and retracts the refill. It’s quick, quiet and ideal for meetings, signing documents and everyday note-taking.

Why a ball pen?

Ball pen ink dries almost instantly, resists smudging and writes on almost any paper, from notebooks to glossy forms. It’s also the most travel-friendly type of pen.
