Few paintings are as haunting as The Prisoners’ Round. The Visconti Van Gogh Roller Ball Pen, The Prisoners’ Round (Special Edition) translates its muted blues and greys into swirling acrylic resin, crafted in Florence by Visconti.

The painting behind the pen

Painted in 1890 while Van Gogh was at Saint-Rmy, the work shows prisoners walking in a circle in a high-walled courtyard. It is based on an engraving by Gustave Dor and is now in the Pushkin Museum, Moscow.

Pen features

Why a rollerball?

A rollerball gives a smooth, liquid line with almost no pressure, close to a fountain pen but with the simplicity of a refill. The magnetic cap closes with a satisfying click.

Whether you admire Van Gogh or collect Visconti, this edition is a meaningful and beautiful pen to own or to give.
