An icon restored, with a striking texture: the Sheaffer Legacy Fountain Pen in Chevron Matte Black (finish 9066) pairs Sheaffer’s famous inlaid nib with an engraved chevron pattern and PVD gunmetal trim.

The inlaid nib

Sheaffer introduced the inlaid nib in 1959 on the PFM. Instead of sticking out from the grip, the nib is set into the section, creating a sleek, streamlined profile that is instantly recognisable. On this model it is stainless steel with gunmetal plating, in Fine or Medium.

Legacy, then and now

Sheaffer launched the original Legacy in 1996 as a modern tribute to the PFM. The current collection brings it back in brass with a choice of contemporary finishes such as this Chevron.

In the box

• The pen with a snap-on cap
• Sheaffer Classic converter
• 2 ink cartridges
• Leather sleeve and cleaning cloth

Size and feel

138mm capped and about 150mm posted, with a 13mm body and a total weight of 40g. The brass construction gives it a satisfying heft that many writers find steadies their hand.
