Why choose a demonstrator?

A transparent pen turns every fill into something beautiful to look at. Colourful inks glow through the barrel, and you can always check your ink level at a glance. Demonstrators are also popular with collectors who enjoy seeing how a pen is built.

The 1911 Casual L

Sailor’s 1911 takes its name from the year the company was founded, and its cigar-shaped body is one of the most classic forms in fountain pen design. The Casual L version pairs that full-size body with a large, hand-finished steel nib, offering much of the Sailor experience at a friendlier price.

Japanese nib precision

Sailor nibs are prized for control and gentle feedback. Remember that Japanese sizes run fine; the Medium Fine is a superb all-rounder, while EF and F suit small handwriting.

Frequently asked questions

What comes in the box?

A Sailor converter and two cartridges, so you can start writing immediately or use bottled ink.

Can I use any ink?

Any good-quality fountain pen ink works. Colourful inks look especially striking in a demonstrator.

Ink ideas

Try a vivid Sailor Shikiori ink or a shimmering colour to show off the clear barrel.
