What does ‘permanent’ mean here?

Blau Permanent is a dye-based ink that resists ink eradicators and holds up better to water than standard blues. It is not a pigmented or archival document ink, so for official records that must survive soaking, an iron gall ink such as Salix is the better choice.

A dependable everyday blue

For school, work and correspondence, this is a sensible, classic blue. It is readable, professional and behaves nicely in a wide range of fountain pens.
