A colour like fine wine

Alt-Bordeaux captures the colour of a glass of aged red wine: deep, mellow and sophisticated. It is a superb choice for personal letters, invitations and journaling.

Burgundy for everyday writing

Dark enough to read comfortably, yet far more characterful than black or blue, burgundy inks are popular for daily writing. Alt-Bordeaux shades from rosy red to deep plum as you write.

Tips

• Pair it with cream or ivory paper for a vintage look
• Broad and stub nibs show off its shading
• Allow a little extra drying time on coated paper
