Black at a glance, purple on a second look: Private Reserve Ebony Purple is a deep purple-black that lets you write formally while keeping a touch of personality.

About the Ebony family

The Ebony family is Private Reserve’s set of deep, near-dark shades, each pushing a familiar colour towards black for a serious, professional look.

What it is like

• Near-black with a subtle plum undertone
• Very little shading for a solid, uniform line
• Low green or copper sheen can appear on very smooth paper such as Tomoe River
• Well lubricated for a smooth writing feel

Is it right for me?

Choose it for office notes, signatures and anywhere black is expected but a little intrigue is welcome. Left-handed writers should note it is not a fast-drying ink, so allow a moment before running a hand over fresh writing. It is not water resistant.
