The Platinum Prefounte is another popular beginer fountain pen from Japan. Made of plastic, the pen is light weight and easy to carry around. The PLATINUM PREFOUNTE CRIMSON RED FOUNTAIN PEN IN FINE STEEL NIB is an upgrade to the uber chich platinum preppy. The same nib from the preppy is used but on a more rigid slender polycarbonate body. Another upgrade compared to the preppy is the introduction of the Steel clip on the pen which makes it look more formal and executive style. The silhouette of the Prefounte is slender and appearance is very formal. The branding on the pen is minimal too unlike the preppy. Platinum Prefounte is a brilliant option for beginners, students and also for executives who want to start using a fountain pen. This is a no nonsense fountain pen which ready to write straight of the box with the help of the included ink cartridge. The Prefounte also comes with the patented Slip & Seal cap which prevents the ink from drying for upto 24 months. We highly recommend this fountain pen for its sturdiness, and excellent ink flow.
