Cool, understated and quietly clever, the Penlux Masterpiece Delgado Demo Matted CT fountain pen pairs a frosted, semi-transparent body with crisp chrome trim. It’s a demonstrator with a softer personality: you can see the ink inside, but through a gentle, misty finish.

Who is this pen for?

If you like the idea of a clear pen but find glossy demonstrators a bit too flashy, the matted finish is a great compromise. It also suits writers who prefer silver-tone trim over gold, and anyone who wants a large, comfortable piston filler for daily journaling or long-form writing.

How it fills

With a piston. Twist the knob at the end of the barrel, submerge the nib in bottled ink and twist back. The pen draws up ink directly into the barrel, where you can watch the level through the frosted body. It’s a tidy, satisfying process.

Comfort in numbers

The Delgado is 143mm capped and 162mm with the cap posted. With a 15.8mm diameter, it offers a broad, relaxed grip, and at 26g it feels solid without tiring the hand.

Nib

This version is offered with a steel nib in Fine or Medium. Fine is great for detailed notes, while Medium gives a smoother, slightly bolder line for everyday writing.

Pairing tip

A cool blue, grey or teal ink looks especially good behind the frosted body and chrome trim.
