The Nakabayashi Think Notebook B552SDN is a clean, no-nonsense B5 squared notebook from Japan, with a black cover and a grid layout that keeps your notes, sketches and calculations neat. If you’ve been searching for a Japanese grid notebook in India that’s practical rather than flashy, this is a very good pick.

Why a squared (grid) notebook?

A squared layout is one of the most versatile page styles you can use. The grid works as a guide for handwriting, keeps columns and tables straight, and makes it easy to draw graphs, charts, diagrams and simple floor plans. It’s a favourite for maths, science and engineering students, for bullet journaling and to-do lists, and for anyone who likes their notes to look organised.

B5 size: who it suits

At 252mm x 179mm, this is a standard B5 notebook. B5 sits between A5 and A4. It’s the classic Japanese student notebook size: roomy enough for proper lecture and study notes, yet noticeably easier to carry than A4.

Paper and binding

The notebook has 40 pages of 70gsm paper. The 70gsm paper strikes a sensible balance: light enough to keep the notebook slim and easy to carry, with enough body for comfortable everyday writing. The pages are stitched-bound, a sturdy binding that helps the notebook hold together through daily use in a bag.
