Petrol blue sits somewhere between deep teal and dark blue, a moody, sophisticated shade that’s become a favourite among designers. The Leonardo Pura No.8 Steel Nib Fountain Pen in Frosted Petrol RT wears it in a soft frosted resin, paired with dark ruthenium trim for a sleek, monochrome feel.

Why this combination works

Ruthenium has a gunmetal tone that doesn’t compete with the frosted petrol body. Together they create a calm, understated pen that looks modern and quietly confident. It’s a great choice if you prefer subtle over shiny.

Built for comfort

The Pura is an oversized pen, with a 16.8mm diameter and a length of 156mm capped (172mm posted). A wide barrel like this lets your hand relax, and the 30g weight gives each stroke a stable, grounded feel.

The No.8 nib

A large No.8 steel nib is fitted, available in Fine, Medium or Broad. Big nibs look impressive and deliver a smooth, generous writing experience.

Piston filling

Fill it straight from the bottle with the built-in piston. Blue, teal and grey inks look especially good with this colourway.

Who’s it for?

Architects, designers, writers with larger hands and anyone who loves Italian design with a minimalist edge.
