If there’s one fountain pen we recommend again and again to beginners, it’s a Kaweco Sport. The Kaweco Lunar Sport Fountain Pen in Shadow Blue is that legendary pocket fountain pen in a calm, dusky blue, and it’s every bit as practical as it is charming.

Why the Kaweco Sport is so loved

It’s tiny when you carry it and full-size when you write. Capped, it’s just 107mm, small enough for a shirt pocket or even a wallet. Post the cap on the back and it becomes a comfortable 127mm writing instrument. And at only 10g, it’s one of the lightest fountain pens you can buy.

The nib

The steel nib comes in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Double Broad. For everyday handwriting, Fine or Medium is the most popular choice. EF suits tiny journal writing, while B and BB are lovely for bold notes and signatures.

Filling

The Sport uses short international ink cartridges. A cartridge and converter are not included with this pen, so add a pack of cartridges to your order to start writing straight away.

Shadow Blue

The Lunar Sport series uses soft, muted tones. Shadow Blue is a smoky, grown-up shade that looks relaxed and modern. This version is clipless, which keeps the octagonal Sport silhouette clean.
