Soft, silvery and understated, Pelikan Edelstein Moonstone Ink (Grey, 50ml) was chosen as Pelikan’s Edelstein Ink of the Year 2020.

About Edelstein

Edelstein, German for “gemstone”, is Pelikan’s premium ink range. Each colour is named after a precious stone, and since 2012 Pelikan has released a special Ink of the Year, often paired with a matching limited-edition pen. Moonstone was paired with the Pelikan M205 Moonstone.

The colour

A pale, silvery grey that is easy on the eyes and elegant on cream or white paper. It is subtle rather than dramatic, ideal for journaling, sketching and anyone who wants a softer alternative to black.

Bottle and properties

• 50ml glass bottle, with a silver cap instead of the usual black Edelstein cap
• No shimmer, no sheen
• Not marketed as water resistant
• Made in Germany

Tip

Pale inks look their best with a medium or broad nib, which lays down more ink.
