The Sailor 1911 Casual Shikiori Yonaga 0.5mm mechanical pencil brings Japanese craftsmanship to an everyday essential. Sailor’s Shikiori range (the name means “weaving the four seasons”) draws its colours from the seasons and scenery of Japan, and each shade has its own evocative name. Yonaga refers to the long nights of autumn, and the deep purple resin has a calm, twilight feel. With a fine 0.5mm lead, a gold plated trim and a comfortable resin body, it’s a premium mechanical pencil for writing, sketching, study and work.

A mechanical pencil from Sailor, Japan

Sailor has been making writing instruments in Japan since 1911, and its pencils and ball pens share the same care and finish as its famous fountain pens. If you already love a Sailor pen, this pencil makes a natural companion.

Fine 0.5mm lead

0.5mm is the most popular mechanical pencil lead size. It gives a crisp, precise line for neat handwriting, maths and science work, annotations, sketches and technical drawings, and replacement 0.5mm leads are easy to find in a wide range of grades.

Twist mechanism and a comfortable feel

The pencil works with a twist mechanism. The resin body measures 135mm long with a 14mm diameter and weighs just 17g, so it’s light and comfortable to hold for long study or drawing sessions.
